Saplings Program
Saplings Program
The Saplings Program is designed for children aged 1–4 (5) who aren’t quite ready to play independently from their parent but would love the opportunity to explore, play, and connect with nature in a safe and inclusive Forest School environment.
This program is perfect for parents who want their children to play outdoors alongside other similarly aged peers. It’s also a wonderful way to get to know the facilitator and become familiar with Mountain Road Homestead before joining one of our independent programs in the future.
❄️ The Benefits of Winter Play
Winter offers countless opportunities for growth and discovery! Some of the benefits for young children include:
Development of gross motor skills and increased physical activity
Expanded imagination
Natural vitamin D exposure
Reduced stress and improved mood
Better sleep patterns
Strengthened connection to nature
Enhanced overall physical health
Winter, like every season, has its own magic. When my eldest was just eight months old, we spent time outdoors every single day — and I quickly learned that joy in every season starts with us as parents. There are so many unique ways to play and explore in winter that no other season can offer!
Activities We’ll Enjoy
Sledding and snowshoeing
Snow painting and snow kitchen play
Crafts and snack time in our heated garage
Enjoying fresh air with like-minded families
Exploring groomed trails throughout the yard for easy access
Let your children embrace winter’s beauty and adventure here at Mountain Road Homestead!
