π± Experience & Passion
From a young age, Lindsay has been deeply passionate about nature, animals, and outdoor explorationβa passion that continues to guide her work today. Her mission is to share the value of nature-based education and inspire children to live sustainably and in harmony with the natural world.
Lindsay began her career with the South Nation Conservation Authority, where she spent two years conducting stream surveys, testing water quality, and identifying aquatic invertebrates. She often engaged the public at fairs and educational events, sharing her knowledge of freshwater ecosystems with both children and adults.
As a stay-at-home mom, Lindsay continued to grow her skills and earned her ECE diploma in 2013. She later worked with Arnprior EarlyON, where she led outdoor programming, including weekly nature walks, park play, and family-based nature experiences. This led to her role as Outdoor Educator, blending early childhood education with hands-on nature immersion.
πΌ Life on the Homestead
Lindsay lives on a vibrant homestead with:
Two large vegetable gardens
Fruit trees
Chickens, ducks, roosters
Two cats and three beloved dogs β Holly - the pup of MRH, Maple (Bernese Mountain Dog mix) and Bear (Red Golden Retriever)
Her three children, who are actively involved in Forest School life
Her family can often be seen exploring in all weather, kayaking, canoeing, and camping together. Youβll also spot her kids helping out during PA Day Camps, March Break, and summer programs, learning alongside the students and sharing their love for the outdoors.
π₯ A Nature-Based Lifestyle
Lindsay integrates her passion for gardening, harvesting, and preserving food into the Forest School curriculum. Children are encouraged to plant seeds, care for growing plants, and experience the joy of harvesting their own fruits and vegetables β gaining both knowledge and appreciation for where food comes from.
β€οΈ Why Forest School?
For Lindsay, Forest School is more than just education β itβs a way of life. She believes in raising children who are resilient, curious, confident, and connected to the earth. Her calm, supportive approach nurtures a love of learning and builds a foundation of respect for the natural world..
