Summer Camp

SUMMER — What an exciting time of year at the homestead! Gardens are in full swing, nature is bursting with interesting discoveries, and we soak up the energy of the sun with the perfect summer breeze to cool us off (or the occasional refreshing sprinkle of rain). Each day pf the week we will be diving into a new subject. Some days and weeks may look a little different based on interest but each subject will be introduced

🌞 Weekly Summer Themes

Monday – Gardening Day
Children will soak sprouts and observe them growing throughout the week, plant a small take-home garden, and learn the differences between fruits and vegetables—plus so much more hands-on gardening fun.

Tuesday – Science Day
Join us for an exciting Science Day where children explore hands-on experiments and simple science concepts through play and discovery. Using natural materials and age-appropriate activities, children will build early scientific thinking skills, make predictions, and explore cause and effect in a fun, engaging environment. Perfect for curious minds who love to learn through doing.

Wednesday – Summer Olympics
A day full of outdoor fun featuring scavenger hunts, obstacle courses, races, games, and lots of active play in nature.

Thursday – Amphibians & Reptiles
Children will learn about the different species of frogs, toads, snakes, turtles, and salamanders found in Ontario. We’ll explore the forest in search of these amazing creatures and their habitats.

Friday – Birds & Trees
What would Forest School be without learning about trees and their feathered friends? Children will explore tree species and identification, learn about local birds, use binoculars, and discover the different types of nests found high up in the branches.

Each week will have slightly different levels of difficulty based on groups and ages.

We also have a mini putt course on site, will cool off with the sprinkler each afternoon, and finish the day enjoying a nice cold freezie!
